Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we’ll begin our exploration of the charming city of Luang Prabang. Our first stop is the
Morning Market, where you’ll find various local shops selling colorful fresh food, vegetables, and exotic tropical fruits. Next, we will visit the famous
Wat Xieng Thong, a striking temple adorned in black and red hues with intricate gold stenciling dating back to the 16th century. Renowned for being one of the few temples to survive the Chinese Black Flag incursion in 1887, it holds historical significance. We will then continue to visit
Wat Visounnarath (or Wat Visoun), the oldest pagoda in Luang Prabang, built in 1512 under the reign of King Visounnarath (1501-1520). The temple served as a symbol of unity for the Laos Kingdom.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will head to
Kuang Si Waterfall (Tat Kuang Si), located 29 km south of Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you’ll have the chance to take a short trek along the forest trail up the mountain before enjoying a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear water. On the way back, we will stop by the
Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary, where you'll learn about Asian sun and moon bears and the bear protection program.
